MobiliseSME Mobility Scheme for SMEs Employees Shows Promising Results

We are happy to announce that the MobiliseSME cross-border mobility pilo scheme for employees of SMEs in Europe has been warmly welcomed by companies in Europe. The MobiliseSME Matchmaking Platform, our online matchmaking platform where SMEs can connect with each other to organise an exchange, has already reached 250 registrations and 25 exchanges have taken place or are programmed to take place in the coming two months. Another 25 exchanges are currently in the negotiation phase, with firms agreeing to the objectives and to the type of training.
The positive reaction was not entirely unexpected, as more than 80% of the 1.340 firms that participated in a survey that took place in summer 2016 concerning the idea of an exchange scheme for their employees gave a positive feedback.
Inspired by the successful Erasmus program for university students, the MobiliseSME scheme allows small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe to send one of their employees to work in another company abroad for a period between two weeks and two months or to host the employee of a foreign company for a similar time span. The exchange must include a form of training for either the travelling employee or the staff of the hosting company. The project provides a forfeit financial support directly to the visiting staff member to cover additional travel and living costs.
